MEC MSHENGU WELCOMES ARREST OF SUSPECTS LINKED TO SCHOOL BREAK-INS

The MEC for Education in KwaZulu-Natal Mr Kwazi Mshengu is pleased with recent developments regarding the break-ins at schools throughout the KZN Province.

Seven (7) suspects have been arrested between Sunday, 19 April 2020 and today, 21 April 2020 following a spate of burglaries of more than 200 schools during the Lockdown period. The arrested suspects were found to be in possession of some of the stolen goods reported as missing.

All affected schools are being profiled by the South Africa Police Service and we are hopeful that more arrests will be made in due course.
