The Gauteng MEC for Community Safety, Sizakele Nkosi-Malobane, will host a Technical and Vocational Education and Training Colleges (TVET) Safety Indaba as part of concerted efforts to build a conducive and safer learning environment in tertiary institutions in Gauteng.
The Safety Indaba is expected to be attended by about 150 student leadership from various TVET Institutions in the province to discuss safety issues affecting students and to develop a plan of action. Some of the key safety issues the Indaba will address include gender-based violence, substance abuse as well as student safety in and outside campus residence.
